The new artistic style came to Czech lands during the thirty-years war in the early 17th century: the Baroque architecture. It was very popular style in Europe to the mid 18th century, when it was replaced by Rococo style. Anti-reformation forces in Prague concentrated significant individuals from the whole Europe, especially Italy and Germany. In the city of Prague you can find plenty of richly decorated churches, houses and palaces built in the 17th and 18th century, you can admire Baroque statues everywhere.
During this interesting tour you will visit the interior of the Strahov Library, the largest collection of manuscripts and books in the Czech Republic, the interior and liturgical treasure of Loreto Baroque complex of pilgrimage, the Clementinum, former Jesuit College and the largest educational centre in the central Europe, both St. Nicholas Churches in the Old Town and in the Lesser Town, the worldwide famous statue of Prague Jesus Child, situated in the Church of Our Lady Victorious, St.Francis Church and many others exemples of the sumptuous Baroque style. Of course, do not miss the Baroque statues on the Charles Bridge.
