Glass factory Nižbor and Pilsner Brewery

The Czech country is very famous for its typical production of fine Czech crystal goods. If you are interested in it and if you want to buy some products cheaper than in Prague´s shops, do not miss this opportunity. The Glassworks in Nižbor manufactures an extensive range of cut 24 % leaded crystal in a wide variety of decorations from the simple to extremely complex and laborious decorations, with gilt, hand painting and sandblasting. In the factory you will see all stages of how the glass is made.There are two important parts of manufacture, at first it is a furnace where each piece of glass gets the final shape, and then you will see an engraves´ studio where the decoration is made. Maybe you will be surprised that workers are still using the ancient technology, just like in the past centuries.

At the end of the visit you will be taken to the factory shop where you can buy local products.

If you like beer and especially the Czech one, it is recommendable to visit the Pilsner Urquell Brewery. The local beer production has a very long history as the brewery was founded about 150 years ago.

You will visit the whole brewery, you will see all important phases from the traditional beginning of beer-brewing across the fermentation until the distribution. First you will get a lot of information about composition and ingredients of beer and then you will go down to cellars where beer has to mature. (Note: there is a very low temperature, do not forget your jacket.)

The guide will show you also the most modern and efficient automatic assembly lines with a capacity of 50.000 bottles per hour.

Surely you will have a good opportunity to taste the local product. The brewery restaurant belongs among the largest ones in Czech Republic.
