Karlovy Vary e Mariánské Lázně

The famous luxurious spa situated in the western part of Bohemia, just a few steps from the border with Germany, is very well comparable with others spas in the world. The city of Karlovy Vary was founded by the King Charles IV in the 14th century when he had a hunting lodge built there. Since the 16th century it has been known for its 12 hot medicinal mineral springs, the most famous of them is called the Vřídlo. Up to the present day many representants of the European aristocracy and cultural elite (e. g. Russian czar Peter, Austrian empress Maria Theresia, J. W. Goethe, A. Dvořák, L. van Beethoven, N. Paganini, J. S. Bach, R. Wagner, Casanova, Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks) sejourned in Carlsbad and appreciated medical effect of the local hot mineral water.

Besides the springs the city is famous for its International Film Festival belonging to the A category of film festivals in the world, so every year in June and July it is possible to meet in Carslbad worldwide famous actors, singers, film makers. All of them can admire beautiful and rich local architecture with splendid colonnades, sumptuous very well restored houses, taste mineral water, traditional bittersweet liqueur of Becherovka, delicious Carlsbad wafers… Just like you if you accept our invitation to this nice city.

Across beautiful green forests you will continue to Mariánské Lázně, smaller spa with an abundance of parks and green zones. The colourful town is very agreeble and enticing. In front of the central colonnade there is a symbol of the spa, Singing Fountain, and it presents a lovely, though short concert at each odd hour. Also in Marienbad a plenty of famous guests lived or sejourned (Goethe, King of England Eduard VII, Gogol, Chopin, Wagner, Twain, Kafka, Edison).
