Communist labor camp
6 hours
Visit a labor camp in the woods in Central Czechia about one hour away from Prague. This is an authentic camp where people really lived and suffered, many of the prisoners died in the bad conditions.
The camp was used in 1950s when all kinds of "uncomfortable and burdensome" people and critics of the Communist regime ended up imprisoned for many years. Their job was to mine uranium for Soviet Russia with primitive tools. Upon arrival you will watch an introductory movie (only in English language) about the camp and the political development of Czechoslovakia.
Then you walk through the camp with a local guide. You will visit simple barracks, library with the cultural center, hospital, and prison. Around the whole camp are two rows of wired fence.
